This year the Ukrainian Vertep visited the Savchenko Gallery!
The Nativity Scene (Vertep) is a very important and ancient Ukrainian tradition that has been preserved to this day. People dress up in costumes and put on a theatrical performance to spread the message of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Plastuns of the city of Gdańsk decided to bring this tradition closer to everyone and organized their own Nativity Scene, not only carrying information about the birth of Christ, but also remembering the present in which we live.
The nursery was also intended to raise funds for warm clothing for the Ukrainian army.
Playwright Ulyana Savchenko worked on the script and organization of the project.
