“The Seed” is a concise yet powerful painting created by the artist in memory of the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932–1933. In a window shaped like a cross, on the windowsill, lies a single grain illuminated by cold moonlight.

The work is highly symbolic and restrained in form, yet it contains the dramatic essence of those historical events. The force of this sign both speaks and warns at the same time. The cold, contrasting palette draws the viewer into a space of philosophical reflection while maintaining a constant sense of tension. The painting is a unique work, signed by the artist.
