“Snow” is an artwork by Serhiy Savchenko, created in 2026, developed as part of the artist’s original series “WORdROBE.” The composition depicts an old-fashioned clothes hanger with colorful garments hanging sadly and motionlessly. From a sky covered with crack-like textures resembling craquelure, a mysterious, almost sacred snow begins to fall.
By combining everyday objects such as clothing and a hanger with winter, snow, and a fractured sky, the artist creates a surreal situation — one that should not exist in reality. The title refers to the novel “Snow” by Orhan Pamuk, which explores human suffering and tragedy set against the backdrop of timeless and indifferent nature. In this context, human pain appears even more fragile, intense, and absurd.
As the artist recalls:
“Once my son said: Snow is holy because it falls from the sky.” — S.S.
