The catalogue “Wardrobes / Rooms” by Serhiy Savchenko (30×23 cm) is a powerful artistic testimony created in 2022–2023 in the shadow of war and Russia’s large-scale aggression against Ukraine. The “Wardrobes” series portrays spaces filled with absence and emptiness, where objects become carriers of memory about people and their homes. The absence of human figures is essential here – their presence is revealed through things. The “Rooms” series, in turn, is inspired by the interiors of Gdańsk: its shops, museums, churches, and private residences. These interiors, saturated with objects and history, reflect the city’s dramatic spirit, while absent people remain invisible participants in the continuous spectacle of movement and life.
