We warmly invite you to an encounter with the magical world of the artist, combining poetry, sound, and graphic visualizations. The performance will take the form of a performative concert, where we will transport ourselves to a perhaps long-forgotten daily life filled with wonder at what is most important and timeless.
About the Artist:
Katarzyna Dąbecka was born in Gdańsk. She graduated with honors in graphics from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and has been an active artist for many years. She designs graphics for award-winning books, creates posters, and photographs. She also completed a music school with a specialization in piano, an instrument that has been a constant companion in her life. She composed her first musical pieces on the piano. She is also involved in art therapy, for which she received excellent results from the Gdańsk Medical University. Poetry, in her already rich artistic world, initially provided solace but has since become a significant element of her artistic pursuits. In 2016, she made her literary debut during a meeting organized by friends at the “Sopotece” in Sopot. Since then, she has published two volumes of poetry, the first in 2017 titled “O mnie o tobie … wierszem” (About Me, About You … in Verse), followed by another in 2020 titled “Wolność Niewinność” (Freedom Innocence). She has been admitted to the Gdańsk Poets’ Club and is invited to nationwide literary events. Her poems are featured in dozens of national anthologies and literary magazines, both domestic and international (Odra, Akant, Helikopter, Canadian Panorama, Italian Verso – Spazio Letterario Independente, and others), as well as on the pisarze.pl website. Her work has been translated into English, Spanish, and Italian. She writes song lyrics for other artists and has won poetry contests, including a silver medal at the IX Nationwide Poets’ Gathering (TJW) this year. Throughout her performances, she has consistently merged various forms of art. In 2022, she was invited to the 21st Nationwide Poets’ Meeting “Biała Lokomotywa,” where she received a warm reception for her visually-poetic-musical performance.
