Youth Meetings – “Młodzi integrali”

Every Sunday, young people aged 11–23 gather in our gallery. They are divided into two age groups: 11–15 and 16–23, with 10–12 participants in each. It is a space where they can spend time creatively and freely, learn, play, develop their passions, and simply feel at home.
Many of the participants are Ukrainian children who arrived in Poland with their parents while fleeing the war. Some of them are members of the Ukrainian scouting organization PLAST, which supports their upbringing as thoughtful, responsible, and well-rounded young people. The meetings at the gallery offer them joy, creative expression, and a moment of relief from the stress connected with the difficult experience of a childhood disrupted by war.
Polish peers also take part in the meetings, giving young people the opportunity to integrate in a friendly and supportive environment. During the gatherings, participants organize themed evenings with poetry and music, explore traditions and rituals, take part in handicraft activities, play board games, and plan trips to nature and summer camps.
We especially encourage children to rediscover and practice folk traditions, such as decorating Easter eggs, cooking traditional dishes, singing old folk songs, wearing traditional clothing, and using other elements of folk culture—often combined with aspects of contemporary culture. In this way, young people learn respect for cultural heritage and creatively connect tradition with the present.
The groups have their own internal organization, and the main coordinator is Ulyana Savchenko—a student, musician, and poet—who inspires the participants and supports their creative initiatives. The youth meetings at the gallery create a safe and welcoming space for developing creativity, social skills, and intercultural relationships. It is a place where young people can spend their free time actively, discover culture, learn cooperation, and build lasting friendships.
