—————————————————————————————————————————————
For more than three weeks, we presented a moving documentary portrait of contemporary Ukraine—a country that was forced to transform from a place of peace, prosperity, and hospitality into a nation of defenders. The photographs depict not only destroyed cities, ruined homes, and the tragic consequences of war, but above all the people who, despite the brutal Russian aggression, have preserved their dignity, courage, and determination in defending their freedom and identity.
Howard G. Buffett’s project is much more than a war report. It is a visual testimony to history unfolding before our eyes—a document of our time, a record of human suffering, but also of the extraordinary resilience and strength of the Ukrainian people.
For Savchenko Gallery, the opportunity to present this exhibition was both a great honour and an important mission. We are deeply grateful to everyone involved in making this project possible, especially the exhibition’s author, Howard G. Buffett, and its curator, Muhammed Muheisen, whose dedication allowed this remarkable story to be shared with our audience.
This exhibition will remain for us a symbol of remembrance, solidarity, and the power of documentary photography as a universal language of witness.
