The workshop is an introduction to the world of comics — its history, language, and creative tools. Participants will learn both the theoretical foundations and the practical aspects of creating their own visual stories.
Program:
– History and types of comics
– Composition and framing
– Comic formats
– Not just a pencil — tools for creating comics
– How to create an engaging story? Narrative-building tools
Practical part:
– Drawing exercises (pencil and ink)
– Creating a character
– Working on a layout for a first comic
Marek Frankowski
Designer, illustrator, and photographer. Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (Faculty of Graphics).
As a documentary photographer, he spent ten years involved in the creation of two important art institutions in Gdańsk: the Gdańsk City Gallery and the Wyspa Institute of Art.
For the past 12 years, he has been a lecturer at WSB Merito University. In the graphic design program, he teaches students digital graphic techniques, graphic design, digital illustration, and photography.
