Savchenko Gallery warmly invites you to the opening of “SYNERGY OF PRINT”, an exhibition presenting works by artists associated with the Kyiv printmaking hub Wolny Druk (Вільний Принт).

This is not only an exhibition of contemporary Ukrainian printmaking, but also an encounter with a remarkable artistic community that, despite the war, the bombardment of Kyiv, and the constant daily threat, continues to create and develop its activities.

Wolny Druk remains in Kyiv. It organizes exhibitions, workshops, residencies and meetings, supports the local artistic community, and creates a space for new artists and creative initiatives. It is an example of a Ukrainian cultural initiative that, even under extraordinarily difficult circumstances, continues to pursue its mission.

Wolny Druk is an independent platform bringing together art, design and contemporary printmaking. It combines traditional hand-printing techniques, risograph printing, digital printing and a craft-based approach.

Together with Risodentsia (Різоденція), it forms an integrated creative ecosystem — a space for experimentation, education and artistic collaboration. In recent years, the Wolny Druk community has organized, among other events, two printmaking festivals, an intimate festival dedicated to ex-libris, as well as numerous workshops and artistic collaborations.

ARTISTS:

Oksana Stratijczuk, Volodymyr and Olga Lyubych, Kateryna Kosiak, Ksenia Kovaleva, Hanna Baranova, Valentyna Arefieva, Iryna Hvozdyk, Kateryna Svirhunenko, Konstantin and Arkadij Pugachevski, Konstantin Kalynovych, Roman Romanyshyn, Olesya Dzhurayeva, as well as other artists associated with Wolny Druk.

Our special guests at the opening will be Ksenia Kovalova and Oleh Fedunchak — founders and initiators of Wolny Druk in Kyiv.

They will personally talk about the studio, its artists and the works presented in the exhibition, as well as about what it means today to run an independent art space in Kyiv.

We invite you to encounter contemporary Ukrainian printmaking and to meet the people who, despite an extraordinarily difficult reality, continue to create, experiment and build an artistic community.

The exhibition is presented as part of the pilot project “Institution in Residence”, developed by Savchenko Gallery and the Savchenko Foundation.
