“Fallen Blossom” is a painting by Serhiy Savchenko, begun in the spring of 2014 and completed only in 2025.
The work depicts a ploughed field lined with old cherry trees in bloom. Their petals fall to the ground, creating a delicate yet dramatic motif.
The falling blossoms are painted with dynamic movement and, in the artist’s vision, symbolize the tragic fate of young people during the war in Ukraine.
The metaphor of the fallen blossom resonates here as a reminder of the pain and unbearable loss of the youngest lives.
