Join us for a concert by the 5/6 (Pięć Szóstych) vocal group at the Savchenko Gallery.

5/6 (Pięć Szóstych) is an a cappella vocal group often referred to as the “Polish Pentatonix.” Using vocal play techniques, the performers create their own arrangements of popular entertainment music as well as original compositions. The group consists of: Justa Czarnota, Madzia Karmiłowicz, Renata Tuszyńska, Paweł Orłowski, Wiktor Gabor, Jan “Elf” Czerwiński.

The group’s beginnings are tied to the stage of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where the vocalists studied together. In 2020, the group released their debut musical album “Nieoblicza,” featuring the single “Nada Nada.” The ensemble gained popularity on the internet through musical short videos, called “shots” by 5/6, where they perform well-known entertainment music.

5/6 has won numerous awards, including 1st place at the 8th International Choir Festival and Competition “Canco Mediterrania” in Barcelona/Lloret de Mar 2018, 1st place at the 7th International Choir Festival “Per Musicam Ad Astra” in Toruń 2019, the special award from Radio Gdańsk S.A. at the Ladies’ Jazz Festival 2019, and the Grand Prix at the 5th Nationwide Festival of Contemporary Choral Music “Music Everywhere” in Gdańsk 2019. They also won 2nd place sponsored by the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Authors ZAiKS, Wyszków 2023.
