Exhibition of Contemporary Ukrainian Graphic Art
Presentation of the Kyiv-based printmaking hub WOLNY DRUK
02.10–18.10.2026
OPENING: 2 October 2026 | 5:00 PM
Savchenko Gallery
al. Grunwaldzka 502–504, Gdańsk-Oliwa
Savchenko Gallery warmly invites you to the opening of “PRINT SYNERGY”, an exhibition presenting works by artists associated with the Kyiv-based printmaking hub Free Print (Вільний Принт / Free Print).
This is not only an exhibition of contemporary Ukrainian graphic art, but also a presentation of a remarkable artistic community that continues to work despite the war, the bombardment of Kyiv, and the dangers of everyday life.
Wolny Druk remains in Kyiv. It continues to work, organize exhibitions, workshops, residencies and meetings, support the local artistic community, and create opportunities for new artists. It is one of the Ukrainian cultural initiatives that continues to operate under extremely difficult circumstances — surviving, developing and creating against all odds.
Free Print — Printmaking Hub is an independent platform bringing together art, design and contemporary printmaking. Under one roof, traditional hand-printing techniques meet risograph printing, digital production and a craft-based approach.
Together with Risodentsia (Різоденція), the hub forms an integrated creative ecosystem — a space for experimentation, education, exhibitions, residencies and artistic collaboration. Risodentsia serves as its technological and experimental core, while Wolny Druk develops the social and artistic platform, bringing together an active community of artists and audiences.
In recent years, Wolny Druk has organized, among other initiatives, two printmaking festivals, an intimate festival dedicated to ex libris, as well as numerous workshops, creative sessions and artistic collaborations.
“PRINT SYNERGY”
The exhibition at Savchenko Gallery brings together different worlds of contemporary graphic art: traditional printmaking, ex libris, risograph printing, contemporary posters, digital printing and experimental design.
It creates a dialogue between the artist, material and technology, in which every print becomes a meeting point for different ideas, experiences and visual languages.
The exhibition presents Ukrainian graphic art as a vibrant, diverse and dynamic contemporary scene, combining tradition with experimentation, craftsmanship with contemporary design, and individual artistic practice with a collaborative approach.
Artists
The exhibition features works by, among others: Oksana Stratiychuk, Volodymyr and Olga Lyubych, Kateryna Kosiak, Ksenia Kovaleva, Hanna Baranova, Valentyna Arefieva, Iryna Hvozdyk, Kateryna Svirhunenko, Konstantin and Arkadiy Pugachevsky, Konstantin Kalynovych, and other artists associated with Wolny Druk.
Ksenia Kovaleva and Oleh Fedunchak, founders and initiators of the Kyiv-based Wolny Druk hub, will be personally present at the opening. They will introduce the project, speak about the artists and works presented in the exhibition, and share their experience of running an independent art space in Kyiv today.
Admission free.
We invite you to discover contemporary Ukrainian graphic art — and to meet the people who continue to create, work and build an artistic community in Kyiv against all odds.
